MAC everyday pro palette

In my previous post I mentioned how good MAC are for allowing you to customize your own palettes. You don’t have to be a “pro” either to purchase a “pro palette”. The palettes are available for everyone to purchase but it must be from a flagship or pro store. The quad palettes are super handy for your handbag.Have a light colour to highlight your brows and inner corners of your lids, another not-so-light shade for all over your main lid, a dark shade to contour your eyes and a really dark one to define your eyes. The following are my essentials!:)

  • Brule-as a base
  • Wedge
  • carbon
  • woodwinked

Emerald Eyes for St.Paddy’s Day

With St.Patrick’s day only two days away I thought I’d start warming up for the festivities(which will mainly be drinking!) but you can still look super pretty while doing it. Go green the fashionable way by opting for some fab green eyeshadows rather than a giant leprechaun hat!

Greensmoke- A smokey green with a beautiful golden sheen.

Lucky Green- Your sure to have the luck of the irish wearing this! It’s a gorgeous bright green with a yellow golden sheen.

Wondergrass- Stunning grass green colour with a frost finish

Eyeshadow Palettes..love or loath?

Multi eye shadow palettes can be used to create everything from a natural everyday make-up to a super glam dramatic evening look. Don’t think you have to use all the colours at once though…this is what confuses people a lot and they start adding bits of every colour and end up looking like a clown! There always seems to be one colour as well that you just don’t use. If you find this is your problem opt for a customised palette- MAC and Inglot are great for these and then at least you know you’ve only yourself to blame if you don’t use all the colours! Some of my favourite palettes are Giorgio Armani Eyes to kill range

and Bobbi Brown “Ultra nude eye palette”

Pucker up to colourful lips

This season bright lips are everywhere. Electric shades were see at Christian Dior, Jen Kao, Prabal Gurang and Mary Katrantzou. If your brave enough to try out one of this shades make sure to pair it with flawless dewy skin. Let your lips do all the talking! Some of my favourite shades are Giorgio Armani Lip wax in shade 7(below) and Bobbi Brown Rich lip colour in shade Old Hollywood. I don’t think the blue lips below would transcend well into everyday life…so maybe give that one a miss!LOL

"Wing it" Red carpet style

Winged eyeliner took the red carpet by storm this year. Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone, Zoe Saldana and J-lo all opted for this look. J-lo was definetly one of the more adventureous as she went for a double winged style. To get the basic feline flick like Emma Stones going on use MAC black fluidline in blacktrack with an angled brush like Kryolan Berlin no.10.

If your feeling a bit more adventurous but haven’t the steadiest hand and want to try a J-lo angle some sellotape in line with your top lash line to create the clean wing and then double up on top of it with a white eyeshadow.

The Oscar’s 2012 Make-up!:)

With so many beautiful gowns, make-up and hairstyles on the night of the 84th Annual Academy Awards it’s hard to choose who looked the most radiant but I think Penelope Cruz hit every nail on the head. Her exquisite dress was of course Armani Prive. Her hair was inspired by 1950’s Hollywood starlet Grace Kelly and her make-up a sultry smokey eye. To get her stunning make-up look use the following for the eyes

  • Color Design 5 Pan Palette in Gris Fatale by Lancome.
  • Black kohl pencil to line the eyes.
  • Giorgio Armani Eyes to kill to create that false lash effect.

For the skin use your regular foundation and sculpt the cheekbones slightly then use Lancome Blush Subtil in Rose Romantique on the apples of the cheeks. The lips are extremely natural with a slight rose tint. Use Lancome Le lipstique lip colouring stick in bronzelle to line the lips very slightly and then Lancome rouge in love lip colour in shade Delicate lace.

Beauty Blenders…the magic pink egg!:)

If your not using a brush to apply your make-up you should be using a beauty blender! These magic pink egg’s create an absolutely flawless complexion.Given to me to try courtesy of the lovely Huda Kattan while working on a fashion show together it’s now definitely a staple part of my make-up kit!

So how does it work? Beauty blender was created without edges to allow for a smooth application…streak free in other words!:) Use it damp when applying your foundation and “bounce” it off your skin or use a stippling motion(make-up artist term). It’s a suede texture which is a hell of a lot more comfortable than latex sponges which tend to tug on your skin and it’s just so darn pretty!

Winter make-up trends 2011!

I’ve picked the most fab fall/winter looks from the runway to help to look your most beautiful even if you are bundled up in layers of clothing to keep you warm your make-up will still look HOT!:)

First up is NUDE as seen at Marc by Marc jacobs and Versace: The nude make-up trend is never out of fashion. It’s an easy and natural look to create. Make sure you choose a foundation that suits your skin tone (or go a shade warmer if your feeling a little on the pale side). Keep eyeshadow colours neutral-browns,biege’s.you can add in some golden tones as well to give some sparkle. If you have blue or green eyes try a brown mascara like Eyes to kill no.2 by Giorgio Armani. For brown eyes try a plum shade mascara like Volume million lashes luminizer for hazel eyes which is a plum colour. Stick to peach and rose tone blushes for a soft look. Opt for cream blushes rather than powder and this time of your the weather plays havoc with your skin and drys it out. I’m loving Bobbi Brown cream blush stick in Desert Rose and also Jane Iredale touch cream blush Connection. To complete the look try one of L’Oreal’s colour riche made for me lipsticks.(please see previous review.

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Or Multi-Usage Dry Oil Golden Shimmer

Bling tastic!:) I had a music video shoot last week and the director wanted me to cover the model in Baby oil to give a shiny look to the skin but I thought it would look far too greasy and baby oil can sometimes have that sticky feel as well so instead of using baby oil I used NUXE’s amazing shimmery fantastic muti-usage dry oil. It makes the body glisten beautifully, especially because we were shooting in the desert so the sun’s reflections made it even more fantastic. I usually apply this to myself all over when i’m too lazy to put on fake tan, it’s ideal to use during the Christmas party season as well to add a bit of sparkle!;)
